Joshua returns his iMac, and other interesting statements.

Great article about the pitfalls of a Windows user trying to switch to the Mac. Yeah, Macs are great, cool, high quality, expensive and supposedly chic, but this guy took some liberal license and added some humor. Mac nut jobs from all over jumped on the attack Joshua bandwagon. Funny how we get so passionate about a computer system, yet allow politicians to steal our liberty. Well, take a look at the articles from the Huffington Post, opening salvo. Then do read the part 2 response on what happened after he posted that article. I do not see the connection to Adam Lambert, 2 years ago, American Idol Winner, and fantastic vocalist. But I guess the point is that there is no need to get all riled up about unimportant things. Take a look at the results article.

July 16th - Steve Jobs upset Apple iPhone has issues and critics!

Apple iPhone AntennaGate explained by Steve Jobs. He is unhappy that the media is attacking him and his products, he says results and facts prove it is unwarranted. This is also what good politicians go through, good people, and good celebrities. Get used to it Steve. You have even had unwarranted attacks on President Bush, during keynotes. I would suggest that what goes around comes around. How about also fixing the scratching issues that iMacs cause on cds and dvds? Sounds like I feel sorry? Nope, I don't. Welcome to the hard reality of todays extreme media frenzy caused by a vacuum of morales and respect that you used to condone.

New iMac Scratching CDs and DVDs

From the I can NOT believe it department, news is that many consumers who purchased the new iMacs, are getting scratched CDs from the internal factory drive. Seems that the drive exhibits 4 small scartches on the disk upon eject. Seems that little Snow Leopard trapped inside wants to get out! Apple techs have been said to be rude, and indicate that people need to learn how to insert and remove CDs from their drives. Me thinks it is a design flaw with the drive or opening slot, being too thin. The tolerances are tight. Lets hope Apple decides to correct this, versus removing the CD drive all together, which seems to be their plan for the Mac Mini, and Macbook, ala Macbook Air.

Some owners have come up with makeshift solutions, to place tape around the slot to eliminate the scratches, but I am not sold on it being the slot itself, it could be the actual drive inside. Apple confirms they will replace the drive. And have done so for many, to no avail. Others have decided to install an external CD drive with a tray! This could be eliminated if the iMac had a tray CD device, none of my PCs have ever scratched my CDs over the last 10 years.
